Melanie is a Vice-President in Global Technology at JPMorgan Chase* and organizer for the Ember Chicago Meetups.
Melanie is a decorated disabled military veteran (USN), and holds a bachelor's degree in psychology. She has been writing code since 1997, and participates in the Ember open-source community by contributing to the Ember-A11y project (https://github.com/ember-a11y).
She moved to Chicago in 2015 with her husband, son, and two cats (Atlas and P-body). In her "free" time, she likes to play video games (favorites: Final Fantasy 9 and Portal 2), tinker with Alexa skills, and generally overthink existential elements of life.
